Queen Anne Modern
This new 2,500 SF home features a lean floor plan and compact, rectangular massing to minimize the building envelope and preserve as much of the site as possible for planting. Generous decks and wide steps connect the house and the landscape to house. When the oversized sliding doors are open at the front and back of the house, the outdoors spaces become part of the interior. For privacy, the family can pull shear drapes on a recessed, overhead track. The design maximizes natural daylight with simple white walls, while the ash floors, walnut cabinets and extensive bookshelves add warmth to the minimal material palette.
