Rainier Beach Craftsman
This 1909 Craftsman in Rainer Beach is gorgeous, but it had a problem typical of the era: no connection to the backyard. A first-floor bathroom was relocated so that the kitchen could open directly onto a large bluestone patio through French doors. The client is a serious chef, so the kitchen configuration was carefully considered with a place for everything. Some details—such as the apron front sink and the shaker style cabinets—reference the home’s traditional style while others—such as tile and lighting choices—make it more fresh and modern.
