LIGHTING

For a city that is gray so much of the year, it’s surprising that I haven’t found a lighting showroom in Seattle that carries the companies that I turn to again and again. Following are some online resources.

YLighting

Carries some of my favorites (Santa & Cole, Foscarini) and seems to run sales constantly. Have lighting designers that can talk you through it.

Tips for Visiting Showrooms

  • Call to confirm hours.
  • If you want to talk in detail about your project, make an appointment. Ask if you can take photos of something you like and want to remember. Shop local. If a sales rep spends time with you, buy from their shop. Local sources provide a service in letting you see examples of wares and a face if something goes wrong.
  • Be respectful. Take off your shoes to try out that bathtub and go easy on the furniture. (Perhaps a good time for a babysitter.) If you feel overwhelmed by all the great choices, shop with me and I can help narrow it down to what is right for you. In some cases, I can extend my designer discount to you.
